On May 25th of this year, a landmark European legislation called the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) comes into effect, meaning that all businesses who have clients in the European Union must comply with strict new laws regarding the handling and storage of personally identifiable information. Here at Kudos, we’ve been working diligently to comply with these new privacy regulations, and have released many new features and updates to bring both our service (the Kudos app), our website and related marketing tools into compliance. Here are just a few of the things we’ve done to better protect your data:
Cookies are small browser-based files that are often used to improve your user experience, enable online advertising functionality, generate web analytics data, and serve relevant advertisements to you. For more info about cookies, check out his article on how to manage your cookies.
European visitors to our marketing website now have the option to opt in or out of receiving marketing/tracking cookies on their browsers via a small top-of-page dropdown that will appear upon visiting the website. Users that want to change their consent settings can do so by clicking the “Cookie Consent” link at the bottom of the page.
As a GDPR-compliant service provider, we’re dedicated to keeping your information safe. To this end, we’ve ensured that all third-party data processors that we use are also GDPR-compliant. Across our own systems and the third-party systems that we use, your data is protected by industry-standard security measures. We’re also removing certain fields for personal information that aren’t necessary or used by most customers.
Kudos clients can now request anonymization of users that have left their organization or wish to stop using the Kudos application. This anonymization strips out all personally identifiable info, allowing our clients to comply with GDPR. This service can be requested by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org.
